Oral history interview of Dot Hautman, a home front worker during WWII.
Description
Born in 1927, Dot Hautman finished her homework by the light of kerosene lamps until the passage of the Rural Electrification Act. After graduating from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, Hautman moved to Albany, Georgia, where she got a job as a comptometer operator at Cudahy Packing Company. She married a veteran of the Air Corps in 1946. Hautman recorded her oral history interview at Kennesaw State University in April 2016.
