Abstract
Charles T. (Hap) Holladay was a professor of civil engineering technology at Southern Technical Institute from 1948 to his retirement in 1984.
Description
Charles T. (Hap) Holladay is a charter member of Southern Technical Institute, having joined the faculty in 1948 as its first professor of civil engineering technology. Holladay is a veteran of both World War II and the Korean War, serving in the latter while on leave of absence from Southern Tech. He was the first chair of the Civil Engineering Technology Department, holding that post until his retirement in 1984. While a member of the faculty, Holladay also worked for a private firm in his spare time doing aerial photography and mapmaking. He continued working for a private firm well into his 80s. Holladay has many memories of the original campus in Chamblee, Georgia, and the early days of Southern Tech in Marietta.
