Abstract
Dr. Zvi Szafran served as Vice President for Academic Affairs at SPSU from 2005 to 2014. During his time at SPSU, he played a central role in curriculum development.
Description
Dr. Zvi Szafran served as Vice President for Academic Affairs at Southern Polytechnic State University from 2005 to 2014. He received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of South Carolina in 1981. Dr. Szafran served as Vice President for Academic Affairs at New England College in New Hampshire before coming to Southern Poly. During his time at SPSU, he played a central role in curriculum development, particularly in the establishment of majors in Construction, Mechatronics, and Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil Engineering. Dr. Szafran also helped to develop a variety of non-engineering majors, such as New Media Arts. In 2014, he became President of the State University of New York at Canton, an institution with a mission similar to Southern Polytechnic State University.
