Description
The Books That Taught Us was curated by JoyEllen Williams, Curator of the Bentley Rare Book Museum. The Books That Taught Us uses a curated selection of rare and historic instructional books to present the complexities of educational practice in the Western, English-speaking world. While most items featured in The Books That Taught Us were produced during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, the exhibition acknowledges texts dating back to the Middle Ages and the European Renaissance and looks ahead to changes still coming to fruition in the twenty-first century.
