Description
Brochure from a 1996 fundraising effort for "The Bridge" by Thornton Dial. The sculpture was eventually installed near the Carter Center at Lewis Place. In 1996, Ruth Walls decided at the Ossoff House that they needed to do something to honor John Lewis and CAUTION together. Lewis chose artist Thornton Dial, a folk artist in Alabama. This was the first brochure to help with fundraising. After nine years, over $1,000,000 was raised for the project. The finished sculpture is over fifty feet long.
