Three oral histories with Dr. Kat Schwaig the President of KSU
Description
Dr. Kathy "Kat" Schwaig grew up in central Texas, the youngest of 4 children. Prior to joining KSU, Schwaig held faculty positions at Georgia State University and Baylor University and taught as a graduate assistant at the University of South Carolina. She joined the faculty at KSU in 2002, serving in several faculty and leadership roles including as interim department chair for the Department of Accounting and interim department chair for the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems in the College of Science and Mathematics. Schwaig served as KSU provost and senior vice president for academic affairs from 2019 to 2021. Kat Schwaig assumed the interim presidency of Kennesaw State University in July 2021 before becoming the president of Kennesaw State University on March 16, 2022. In part one, Schwaig talks about her upbringing, her education from undergraduate to doctoral, and her career. In part two, Kat Schwaig talks about her career at Kennesaw in more detail, her path towards administration, and overall the evolution of the Coles College of Business throughout the years. In part three, Schwaig talks about the growth of KSU and her goals for KSU.
