Abstract
Randy Brown Jr. was a student at Southern Polytechnic State University during the period of consolidation with KSU and reported on the events surrounding consolidation in his role as editor of The Sting student newspaper.
Description
Randy Brown Jr. was a student at Southern Polytechnic State University from 2010 until his graduation in May 2014. He was the first student to ever be invited to deliver a commencement address at SPSU, speaking at his own graduation. An English and Professional Communications major, Mr. Brown was accepted into an MFA program in creative writing in New York. At SPSU he was the editor of The Sting, the student newspaper. As a member of the media, Brown attended the Board of Regents meeting that voted on the consolidation of Kennesaw State University and Southern Polytechnic State University and live tweeted during the meeting for followers of The Sting on Twitter.
