Abstract
Dr. Han Reichgelt was Dean of SPSU’s School of Computing and Software Engineering from 2007 to 2014. During his tenure, the number of students more than doubled due in part to the creation of programs such as Computer Game Design and Development.
Description
Dr. Han Reichgelt was Dean of Southern Polytechnic State University's School of Computing and Software Engineering from 2007 to 2014. He earned a Ph.D. in Cognitive Science from the University of Edinburgh in 1985 and joined the faculty of the University of Nottingham as Assistant Professor of Psychology. After helping to develop the university's undergraduate program in Cognitive Science, Dr. Reichgelt accepted the position of Professor of Computer Science and Department Chair at the University of the West Indies, Mona, in Kingston, Jamaica, in 1992. In 2001 he joined the faculty at Georgia Southern University, where he was promoted to Chair of the Information Technology Department and then Associate Dean of the College of Information Technology. During his tenure as Dean of Southern Poly's School of Computing and Software Engineering, the number of students more than doubled. This increase was due in part to the creation of innovative programs such as Computer Game Design and Development. From 2014 to 2015, Dr. Reichgelt was Regional Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at the University of South Florida, St. Petersburg.
